Arizona DOT schedules bridge rehabilitation for Interstate 19 in spring 2026

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) plans to begin work on the Interstate 19 Western Avenue Bridges rehabilitation project in spring 2026. The project aims to preserve the structural integrity of two existing bridges.

According to ADOT, traffic control devices will be used to guide drivers through the construction zone. Construction is expected to take place overnight from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday night through Friday morning. Motorists should expect temporary delays as traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction on both I-19 and Western Avenue/Target Range Road.

ADOT states that there are no planned detours or full closures for either I-19 or Western Avenue/Target Range Road during the project. “One lane in each direction will be kept open at all times on I-19 and Western Avenue/Target Range Road,” according to ADOT.
