Senate President Warren Petersen has issued a statement following the death of former Arizona Attorney General Robert Corbin, who passed away at the age of 96.
“Arizona lost a giant today in Bob Corbin,” said Petersen. “Corbin will always be remembered for his service to our state, defense of the most vulnerable among us, and the offices of public trust that he left better than when he found them. In many respects, he was a pioneer of Arizona law and order, helping to bring the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office and Attorney General’s Office into the 20th century to facilitate justice for helpless victims and deserving criminals alike. I am grateful for the example this great man left behind – one that demands emulation from all public servants across our state, regardless of political affiliation. He will be missed, and his memory will be honored for generations to come.”
Petersen is a Republican who was elected to represent Arizona’s 14th Senate District in 2023, succeeding David Gowan.
