The City of Bisbee has announced plans to implement new fees as part of its Vacant and Abandoned Property Program. The proposed fees are intended to offset the costs of administering the program, which includes potential expenses for hiring contractors, engineers, and, if needed, the demolition of unsafe or hazardous structures.
According to the city, these fees aim to help manage vacant and abandoned properties in order to protect public health, safety, and uphold community standards.
The fee structure for residential properties is set at $175. For commercial buildings, the fee is $225 for properties up to 5,000 square feet, and $350 for those over 5,001 square feet.
“The proposed fees are designed to help cover the associated cost with program administration and if necessary, hiring of contractors, engineers and when necessary, the demolition of unsafe or hazardous structures. These fees will ensure that the city can effectively manage and address vacant and abandoned properties to protect public health, safety, and community standards.”
The city posted this information on its website on October 17, 2025.
