U.S. Representative Juan Ciscomani marked Veterans Day with a statement recognizing the service of veterans in Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District and across the country.
“This Veterans Day, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the incredible men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform in defense of freedom. You have put life and limb on the line for our democracy, and your sacrifices are a solemn reminder that freedom is never free.
With nearly 80,000 veterans who call Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District home, I take seriously my responsibility to serve those who have served us. I’m honored to advocate for our veterans through my role in Congress and as a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee.
While we may never be able to repay you for your service, I hope that today — and every day — our communities recognize the bravery, valor, and dedication you’ve shown in defense of our country.”
Ciscomani has highlighted several initiatives supporting local veterans. Two bipartisan bills sponsored by him passed unanimously in the House: one aimed at improving the Veteran Readiness and Employment Program, and another expanding access to veterans’ benefits. He also played a role in opening a new VA outstation in Cochise County, which will provide services closer to local veterans.
Additionally, his office has helped area veterans navigate federal agencies and secure benefits, resulting in nearly $6 million returned to constituents in Arizona’s 6th district.
Ciscomani participated with community members at the Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery at Marana by placing flags on gravesites ahead of Veterans Day. He shared a video message following this event.
Serving as a member of both the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee and Economic Opportunity Subcommittee within the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, Ciscomani focuses on oversight of veteran services as well as helping former service members transition successfully into civilian life.
Juan Ciscomani currently represents Arizona’s 6th congressional district after replacing Ann Kirkpatrick in 2023. In recent elections, he defeated Kirsten Engel—winning 50% of votes in 2024 (215-204) and 50.7% in 2022 (177-171).
