Congressman Juan Ciscomani has announced the opening of submissions for the 2026 Congressional Art Competition. The competition is open to high school students in Arizona’s Sixth District, offering them a chance to have their artwork displayed at the U.S. Capitol for one year. The winning pieces from each participating district will be featured together in Washington, D.C., and highlighted on the House.gov Congressional Art Competition page.
This year, students are encouraged, but not required, to incorporate the theme of the 250th anniversary of the United States into their artwork, as July 4th marks this significant milestone.
The deadline for submissions is Thursday, April 16, 2026.
Congressman Ciscomani said, “The annual Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to shine a light on the many talented young artists in Arizona’s 6th Congressional District. I look forward to seeing the art, meeting the artists and showing off the winning work in the Capitol Building.”
Juan Ciscomani has represented Arizona’s Sixth District in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Ann Kirkpatrick. He won elections against Kirsten Engel in both 2022 and 2024. Born in Hermosillo, Mexico in 1982 and now residing in Tucson, Ciscomani graduated from the University of Arizona with a BA in 2005.
