Congressman Juan Ciscomani of Arizona’s 6th congressional district reported returning more than $153,000 to his constituents during October, a month marked by the federal government shutdown that began on October 1.

According to Ciscomani’s office, he and his staff opened 70 cases in October. These cases included federal casework with agencies such as the Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the Department of Homeland Security. In addition to returning funds, the office received 41 applications for military academy nominations by the end of the month.

“I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve completed to return money and continue to provide clarity and answers to constituents across our congressional district during this shutdown,” Congressman Ciscomani said. “My team remains open and ready to serve you through this difficult time.”

Ciscomani also noted that despite these efforts, many federal employees and recipients of federal programs are affected by what he described as a “Democrat-led government shutdown.”

Residents seeking assistance with federal casework or resources related to food availability are encouraged to contact Congressman Ciscomani’s Tucson district office at (520)-881-3588.

Ciscomani has represented Arizona’s 6th district in Congress since replacing Ann Kirkpatrick in 2023. He secured his seat after defeating Kirsten Engel in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections.
