U.S. Representative Juan Ciscomani has secured $34.1 million in federal funding for community projects across Arizona’s 6th Congressional District for Fiscal Year 2026. The funds will support 15 projects spanning all five counties within the district.
Ciscomani worked with local partners and leaders to identify areas where investments could improve quality of life in southeastern Arizona. He stated, “These 15 projects represent more than just funding — they represent safer roads, stronger water systems, better-equipped law enforcement, and a more secure future for southeastern Arizona. I fought to ensure AZ-06 receives the resources it deserves, and I’m grateful to our community partners who helped make these investments possible. This is how we build a stronger region for the next generation.”
The projects funded include $7 million each for the reconstruction of Buffalo Soldier Trail in Sierra Vista and a bridge replacement in Oro Valley. Other allocations are $4.2 million for police vehicles in Tucson, $2.25 million for source water system improvements at Marana Regional Airport, and $2 million to revitalize Bisbee-Douglas International Airport’s runway in Cochise County.
Additional funding includes $1.9 million for street improvements in Duncan, $1.8 million for affordable workforce housing construction at Casa Grande Union High School District, and $1.75 million for PFAS treatment at Marana’s Pioneer Well. Projects also cover essential water line upgrades in Graham County ($1.2 million), high school road construction in Pima ($1 million), street mill and overlay work in Eloy ($1 million), revitalization of Casa Grande Elementary School’s community center ($1 million), upgrades to Tombstone’s water reclamation facility ($989,786), radio replacements for Sahuarita Police Department ($809,687), and brush dump improvements at Oracle Fire District ($340,049).
With this latest round of funding, Ciscomani has brought over $61 million to the district during his first three years in Congress when combined with the $27 million secured in Fiscal Year 2024.
Juan Ciscomani has represented Arizona’s 6th district since replacing Ann Kirkpatrick in 2023 (https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/politics/elections/2022/11/14/arizona-congressional-district-6-election-results-juan-ciscomani-kirsten-engel/69629743007/). He was born in Hermosillo, Mexico in 1982 and currently lives in Tucson (https://www.house.gov/representatives/jciscomani). He graduated from the University of Arizona with a BA in 2005.
In recent elections, Ciscomani defeated Kirsten Engel both times: by a margin of about three percentage points in 2024 and slightly less than two points in 2022.
