Congressman Juan Ciscomani announced that his office is now accepting nominations for the Veteran Servant Leader Awards for Spring 2026. The awards aim to honor veterans from Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District who have continued to serve their communities after their military service.

Ciscomani has emphasized support for veterans since taking office. During the 119th Congress, he introduced and led four bills focused on veterans that passed the House. Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District has nearly 80,000 veterans, and Ciscomani stated that supporting them remains a high priority.

His office has previously hosted three Veteran Servant Leader Award events, recognizing dozens of local veterans. The fourth event is scheduled for April. “As part of Congressman Ciscomani’s effort to give back to and recognize our veterans here in southeastern Arizona, his office has hosted three Veteran Servant Leader Award events during his time in office thus far. These events honor veterans who have continued to serve their communities after their time spent serving our nation. Congressman Ciscomani and his team have been able to award dozens of veterans through these three events and are looking forward to the fourth one which will be held this April,” according to the announcement.

Nominations are open until Friday, April 17, 2026. Community members are encouraged to nominate AZ-06 veterans who show dedication and commitment through community service.

Ciscomani began representing Arizona’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress in 2023, succeeding Ann Kirkpatrick (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juan_Ciscomani). He was elected after defeating Kirsten Engel in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections.

Ciscomani was born in Hermosillo, Mexico in 1982 and lives in Tucson. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2005.
