There were 53 Asian students enrolled in Gila County schools in the 2021-22 school year, 17.8% more than the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Data showed that Gila County welcomed 7,827 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, Asian students made up 0.7% of the student body, making them the second least represented ethnicity in the county.

Miami Virtual Program was the only school in the county which enrolled Asian students, welcoming 12 in the 2021-22 school year.

Math scores fell the most from 2019 to 2022, while language arts scores decreased to a lesser extent from 2019 to 2022, according to the Nation’s Report Card.

In 2022, average scores from Arizona students were found to be in line with the national average scores for math and reading, according to the Nation’s Report Card
