Congressman Juan Ciscomani, who represents Arizona’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on his official Twitter account addressing National Girls and Women in Sports Day, a tragedy in Flagstaff, and community advocacy efforts from Greenlee and Graham counties.
On February 5, 2026, Ciscomani recognized the importance of athletics for young women by stating, “On National Girls and Women in Sports Day, we celebrate the confidence, discipline, and leadership that sports help build in girls across our country. As a dad, I’ve seen firsthand how athletics teach teamwork, resilience, and self-belief. Every girl deserves the chance to https://t.co/dyl0gQmLDs”.
Later that day, he addressed an incident in Flagstaff: “Tragic news out of Flagstaff last night. Laura and I are praying for the victims and their loved ones, and for strength and comfort for the entire community. https://t.co/6Uzsz9uihE” (posted on February 5).
In another post on February 5, Ciscomani highlighted local advocacy efforts: “Great to welcome and see Theresa, Stephanie, and Kathy in D.C., representing Greenlee and Graham counties. Thankful for the important work they’re doing to prevent substance abuse and educate our youth — making a real impact in our AZ06 communities. https://t.co/VMk3SoYYZp”.
Juan Ciscomani has represented Arizona’s 6th District since 2023 after succeeding Ann Kirkpatrick. He was born in Hermosillo, Mexico in 1982 before moving to Tucson where he currently resides. A graduate of the University of Arizona with a BA earned in 2005, Ciscomani has twice defeated Kirsten Engel—first in 2022 with just over half of the vote at 50.7% to Engel’s 49.2%, then again in 2024 by a margin of 50% to Engel’s 47.5%.
