Congressman Juan Ciscomani, who represents Arizona’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, announced on March 16 and 17, 2026, that his Chiricahua National Park Act has passed the House of Representatives and is now headed to the Senate.
On March 16, Ciscomani posted: “Arizona is one step closer to its 4th national park. My Chiricahua National Park Act just passed the House, honoring one of southeastern Arizona’s greatest natural treasures – the Wonderland of Rocks – while boosting tourism & economic growth in AZ06. Now, onto the Senate.”
The following day, he reiterated his support for the legislation: “Proud to lead this legislation and see it pass the House today. Now it’s onto the Senate to upgrade Chiricahua to a national park!”
In a separate post on March 17, Ciscomani criticized Democrats over funding for national security agencies: “Democrats are playing political games with our national security. By refusing to fund DHS, TSA officers are doing their jobs without pay to keep us safe. We should prioritize those who protect us—not play politics.”
Juan Ciscomani began serving as representative for Arizona’s 6th District in 2023 after replacing Ann Kirkpatrick.[1] He was born in Hermosillo, Mexico in 1982 and currently resides in Tucson.[2] Ciscomani graduated from the University of Arizona in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
He secured his seat by defeating Kirsten Engel in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections.[3] In 2024, he won with approximately 50% of the vote compared to Engel’s 47.5%, and in 2022 with about 50.7% versus Engel’s 49.2%.
