Congressman Juan Ciscomani, who represents Arizona’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on March 26, 2026, addressing concerns about pay for Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employees and criticizing political gridlock in Washington.
In his first post at 14:13 UTC, Ciscomani wrote: “Every employee of the Department of Homeland Security deserves their paycheck. They are part of the very agency that keeps the American people safe and the homeland secure. The American people do not care for Washington’s dysfunction.
My Pay Our Homeland Defenders Act will be https://t.co/If9Nei6nVz“.
Later that day at 16:07 UTC, he highlighted the challenges faced by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees and their families: “TSA employees and their families are being pushed to the brink – some even sleeping in their cars to save on gas or taking on second jobs just to make ends meet.
It is unacceptable that Democrats’ political games have created this kind of uncertainty for hardworking Americans.”
At 17:48 UTC, Ciscomani announced his intention to advocate for his proposed legislation on the House floor: “I’m heading to the House floor to urge support for my Pay Our Homeland Defenders Act.
DHS employees shouldn’t be left in limbo or forced to endure unnecessary stress because of Democrats’ political games. They show up every day to protect our homeland. They must be paid and they”.
Juan Ciscomani has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after replacing Ann Kirkpatrick. He was born in Hermosillo, Mexico in 1982 and currently resides in Tucson. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a BA in 2005. In recent elections, he defeated Kirsten Engel twice—first in 2022 with a narrow margin and again in 2024 by a similar close vote.
