Congressman Juan Ciscomani, who represents Arizona’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of statements on social media criticizing Arizona’s senators and commenting on international events.
On October 6, 2025, Ciscomani accused Senate Democrats, including Arizona Senators Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego, of extending the ongoing government shutdown. He stated, “Senate Democrats – including both of Arizona’s Senators – just voted to prolong this harmful shutdown. Senator Kelly and Senator Gallego continue to put politics over people. Please know that my office remains open, providing full services to my constituents.”
The following day, Ciscomani reflected on the anniversary of the Hamas attacks in Israel. On October 7, 2025, he wrote, “#OTD in 2023, Hamas carried out horrific attacks on Israeli civilians—acts of evil the world will never forget. We remember the innocent lives lost and stand with our ally, Israel. Under @POTUS, we’re finally seeing a plan to bring peace and return the remaining hostages home.”
Later that day, Ciscomani directed criticism at Senator Ruben Gallego regarding his response to the government shutdown. He posted, “.@SenRubenGallego if you’re finally done doing stair photo ops, try having the courage to vote to end the shutdown & stand WITH the thousands of AZ federal workers instead of trampling ON them. You’re cashing a paycheck while turning family’s livelihoods into political theater.”
Juan Ciscomani assumed office in 2023 after replacing Ann Kirkpatrick as the representative for Arizona’s 6th district. He has since won two consecutive general elections against Kirsten Engel: first in 2022 with 50.7% of the vote and again in 2024 with 50% of the vote.
