Congressman Juan Ciscomani, who represents Arizona’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media account on October 8, 2025, to comment on the ongoing government shutdown and its effects on his constituents.

In a post from the early hours of October 8, Ciscomani wrote: “This matters for my district. Thank you, President Trump. Democrats are hurting the families they claim to be fighting for.”

Later that day, he addressed the continuation of the government shutdown: “Day 8 of the Senate Democrat Shutdown. @HouseGOP passed a clean CR to keep the government open. Democrats keep voting no—halting paychecks for troops and law enforcement, furloughing federal workers, and jeopardizing flood insurance and healthcare services.” This message highlighted concerns about essential services and federal employee pay during the budget impasse.

In another statement posted on October 8, Ciscomani cited feedback from prison federal employees: “Directly from our prison federal employees: ‘Daycare, gas, and supermarkets don’t take IOUs.’ Democrats must put people before politics and end this shutdown. It’s time to prioritize our federal employees who are working without pay. Thank you, @CPLTucsonL3955 & L2313 Safford.”

Juan Ciscomani began serving in Congress in 2023 after replacing Ann Kirkpatrick as representative of Arizona’s 6th district. He secured his seat by defeating Kirsten Engel in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections.
