Congressman Juan Ciscomani, who represents Arizona’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, posted on his Twitter account on January 6, 2026, about the passing of an individual named Doug and efforts to designate the Chiricahua Mountains as a national park.

On January 6, 2026, Ciscomani expressed condolences regarding a community loss: “Saddened and shocked to hear of Doug’s passing. He was one of the good ones. Laura and I are praying for his wife Jill, their family, and his community.”

Later that day, he highlighted a conservation initiative: “One of Arizona’s most iconic landscapes — the Chiricahuas — deserves designation as America’s newest national park. Juan Ciscomani has served in Congress since replacing Ann Kirkpatrick in 2023. He secured his seat by defeating Kirsten Engel in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections, winning narrowly each time.
