Congressman Juan Ciscomani, who represents Arizona’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, documented a series of engagements with Secretary Burgum and local leaders across southern Arizona on April 7 and 8, 2026. Ciscomani, who has served in Congress since 2023 after replacing Ann Kirkpatrick, shared details of his activities through several posts on social media.

On April 7, Ciscomani highlighted a visit to the University of Arizona’s San Xavier Mine alongside Secretary Burgum. He wrote, “Yesterday, I kicked off the day with @SecretaryBurgum at the @uarizona San Xavier Mine. This one-of-a-kind site gives students, industry partners, and mining professionals hands-on experience while helping shape the future of mining technology. Arizona continues to lead the way https://t.co/CKybvvoeGi”.

Later that day, he hosted discussions with regional stakeholders. In a post dated April 7, he stated: “Hosted a roundtable with @SecretaryBurgum and local leaders to talk about the unique water needs of our region, the importance of designating copper as a critical mineral, and priorities for our ranchers. Thank you, Mr. Secretary, for taking the time to hear directly from AZ06. https://t.co/YwfIDn8bvQ”.

Ciscomani concluded his day at Saguaro National Park with park rangers and Secretary Burgum. On April 8 he posted: “Wrapped up the day with @SecretaryBurgum at Saguaro National Park alongside some of our incredible park rangers. Proud to show off one of Arizona’s most iconic landscapes — a place that draws visitors from across the country and helps support our local economy. Great way to https://t.co/TWI2eXkqsy”.

Juan Ciscomani was born in Hermosillo, Mexico in 1982 and currently resides in Tucson. He graduated from the University of Arizona in 2005 with a BA degree. His congressional career began after winning close elections against Kirsten Engel in both 2022 and 2024.
