U.S. Representative Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06) announced his support for the Senate Amendment to H.R. 5371, known as the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, which includes $340,049 in funding for the Oracle Fire District (OFD). The funds are allocated through the Agriculture, Rural Development, and Food and Drug Administration FY26 Appropriations bill.
The investment will be used by OFD to purchase an Air Curtain Burner. This equipment is intended to improve safety, efficiency, and environmental quality during brush disposal operations in Oracle.
“As the sole appropriator in Arizona, this is exactly what I fight for in Washington – bringing money back to Arizona and our communities,” Congressman Ciscomani said. “I’m incredibly excited to see this money go to the town of Oracle and for them to be able to purchase this Air Curtain Burner/Incinerator to improve safety and efficiency for the burning of the materials. Congratulations to the town of Oracle!”
According to Ciscomani’s office, replacing traditional pile burns with an Air Curtain Burner system will enhance firefighter safety by reducing personnel needed on site and minimizing exposure to open flames and smoke. The new incinerator is expected to lower operating costs due to reduced staffing requirements while making brush burning more efficient.
The Air Curtain Burner also aims to reduce smoke output during burns, which should benefit air quality for both firefighters and local residents. Improved containment of embers will help decrease accidental fire risks and assist OFD in meeting state and federal air quality standards. With this investment, OFD plans to keep its brush dump open more often, providing a safer way of disposing hazardous vegetation.
Ciscomani worked through Community Project Funding requests for these resources: “$340,050 for the Oracle Brush Dump for the Oracle Fire District: These funds will be used to allow the Oracle Fire District to purchase an Air Curtain Burner/Incinerator, to greatly improve the safety and efficiency of burning the brush, which is the only alternative to disposing of these volatile materials.”
For fiscal year 2026, Ciscomani submitted 15 projects across all five counties in his district totaling nearly $77.6 million. He remains Arizona’s only congressional delegation member serving on the Appropriations Committee.
Juan Ciscomani has represented Arizona’s 6th district since 2023 after succeeding Ann Kirkpatrick. He won elections against Kirsten Engel in both 2022 and 2024.
