Gila County plans to raise the county's primary tax rate by 1.09%, but any taxpayer who wishes to comment on the proposition can do so at the Board of Supervisors next meeting, according to a press release from the county.
The proposed tax would increase taxes on a $100,000 home from $411.20 to $419.
The Board of Supervisors is holding a meeting on July 14 to hear any comments or concerns from taxpayers. The meeting will take place at the Gila County Courthouse at 10 a.m., which is located on Ash Street. If you wish to attend the meeting but can't make it, it will be live streamed on YouTube. Follow this link to view the meeting.
In-person attendance will be limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic as well, but the county will also have the County Complex broadcasting the meeting for others to view. It will be broadcast in the Supervisors' Conference Room, which is located on Highway 260.
For more information on the meeting, email the Clerk of the Board at msheppard@gilacountyaz.gov. The county requests the subject of the email to be “Comments-Gila County Tax Increase."
