Cochise College issued the following announcement on Jan. 18.
Cochise College freshman Stephen Byard was named the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) Division I Player of the Week, announced Monday.
In last week’s win over Pima, 87-78, the 6’7 forward from Atlantic City, NJ, scored 25 points on 9-13 (.692) shooting. He completed a double-double with ten rebounds and added three steals, a block, and an assist.
For the second time this season, Byard was awarded the ACCAC Player of the Week honor.
The Cochise men have stretched their winning streak to 11 games with last week’s victories. The Apaches are 19-1 overall this season, heading into a conference home game against Scottsdale Community College on Wednesday. The game starts at 7:30 p.m., and admission is free.
