The Cochise College Women’s Soccer team won their third match in a row as they came away with a decisive 9-1 victory over GateWay last night in Sierra Vista. The Lady Apache’s have outscored their last three opponents 20-3 during their win streak. Last night at Cyr Park, Cochise was off to a quick start as Ivana Siles knocked one in during the 7th minute of play followed by an own-goal by Gateway shortly after. Jenally Barco and Paula Roldan each scored during the tail-end of the first half giving the Apaches a 4-0 lead at the break.
During the second half of play, Kayla Reynaud put in a goal from 20 yards out off an assist from Barco, Carolina Diaz scored off a header with an assist by Mildred Long, and Paula Gonzalez placed one in during the 77th minute. Daniela Gomez put the exclamation mark on the win by scoring in the 84th securing a 9-1 win over the Geckos.
The Cochise Lady Apaches (5-3, 3-1) are back on the road Saturday, September 24th as they head to Glendale Community College (0-5, 0-3) to take on the Gauchos in a 1:00pm matchup.
