Early gift to the Winchester Community | City of Willcox
The City of Willcox delivered an early gift to the Winchester Community this year.
Through a grant with the Arizona State Library, city staff were able to obtain new laptops, Spanish to English children and young adult books, translation devices, projectors with screens, and a new printer for the Winchester Community Center and the Willcox City Library. The purpose of these materials is to further workforce development and to assist in strengthening community partnerships. Future story readings will be held along with resume writing, job application and other career advancement trainings. Mayor Laws states “the Hispanic population is an important part of our community that we value and appreciate. We hope these tools can help the staff at the Winchester Community Center assist Spanish speakers in applying for local jobs and bettering themselves.
This is part of a broader effort to establish stronger relationships and to help prepare a workforce that is needed by local employers and will be needed by future businesses. “
