Santa Cruz Valley Unified District Education: 3,671 Students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 3,671 students enrolled in Santa Cruz Valley Unified District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.2% more than the 3,629 in the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Out of the total students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.5% of them were boys, and 48.5% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were Latino, representing 96.8% of the Santa Cruz Valley Unified District total enrollment.

Santa Cruz Valley Unified District roughly covers schools within Santa Cruz County and has a main office in Rio Rico.

Among the five schools in Santa Cruz Valley Unified District, Rio Rico High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,414 students in the 2022-23 school year.

WalletHub claimed Arizona’s school system ranked among the worst across U.S. for class size, performance, funding, safety, and instructors’ credentials.

A 2023 study from Scholaroo.com ranked Arizona last out of all U.S. states in terms of educational success, giving the state poor marks for school quality, student success, and teacher-to-student ratio.
