FOIA Request to Cochise County Regarding Voting Machines Testing Report on October 30, 2024.

In our continuous effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at SE Arizona News have sent a request for public records under the Arizona Public Records Law § 39.101 et seq. The request was made to Cochise County and pertains specifically to the pre-election test reports of elections voting machines.

We have asked for these reports in PDF format with specific fields including the test date, machine manufacture, machine model number, and machine status (whether it passed or failed).

As a media organization committed to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, access to such records is essential for us. We believe that we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals given our role in disseminating information.

Our mission remains steadfast in ensuring that our audience stays informed about local governmental affairs. We await the response from Cochise County and will keep our readers updated with any developments.
