BEAR CREEK ROAD OPENS TO ONE-LANE TRAFFIC
The Santa Cruz County Department of Community Development and Infrastructure is pleased to announce that Bear Creek Road south of Greenview Road is open to one- way reversible traffic.
The road has been closed to through traffic since January 15 due a signficant washout caused by a series of atmospheric rivers that struck the county beginning December 31, 2022. Since that time, County road crews have been working hard to restore access for emergency vehicles and residents.
Traffic will be controlled by a temporary signal. All residents are asked to be patient and follow traffic laws in order to assure the safety of fellow road users. County crews will continue monitoring the road and make any adjustments as needed.
The County is also proritizing repairs to restore Bear Creek Road to full capacity. At this time, there is no schedule for comencement of the the full repair.
