There were 143 students enrolled in Pearce Elementary District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2.1% less than the 146 in the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Out of the total students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.3% of them were girls, and 49.7% were boys.

Data also showed that most of the students were Latino, representing 53.1% of the Pearce Elementary District total enrollment.

Pearce Elementary District roughly covers schools within Cochise County and has a main office in Pearce.

In 2022 Arizona had roughly one teacher for every 19 students, compared to the national average of one teacher for 16 students. Teachers handling a higher number of students was found to have negative consequences for students’ school performance.

WalletHub claimed Arizona’s school system ranked among the worst across U.S. for class size, performance, funding, safety, and instructors’ credentials.
