There were 1,849 students enrolled in Thatcher Unified District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.3% more than the 1,825 in the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Out of the total students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.8% of them were boys, and 49.2% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 69.9% of the Thatcher Unified District total enrollment.

Thatcher Unified District roughly covers schools within Graham County and has a main office in Thatcher.

Among the five schools in Thatcher Unified District, Thatcher High School recorded the highest enrollment of 558 students in the 2022-23 school year.

WalletHub claimed Arizona’s school system ranked among the worst across U.S. for class size, performance, funding, safety, and instructors’ credentials.

In 2022 Arizona had roughly one teacher for every 19 students, compared to the national average of one teacher for 16 students. Teachers handling a higher number of students was found to have negative consequences for students’ school performance.
