There were 101 students enrolled in Patagonia Elementary District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 5.6% less than the 107 in the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Out of the total students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.5% of them were girls, and 47.5% were boys.

Data also showed that most of the students were Latino, representing 76.2% of the Patagonia Elementary District total enrollment.

Patagonia Elementary District roughly covers schools within Santa Cruz County and has a main office in Patagonia.

WalletHub claimed Arizona’s school system ranked among the worst across U.S. for class size, performance, funding, safety, and instructors’ credentials.

A 2023 study from Scholaroo.com ranked Arizona last out of all U.S. states in terms of educational success, giving the state poor marks for school quality, student success, and teacher-to-student ratio.
