There were 1,396 American Indian or Alaskan Native students enrolled in San Carlos Unified District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2.7% more than the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Data showed that San Carlos Unified District welcomed 1,402 students during the 2022-23 school year, all of whom identified as American Indian or Alaskan Native.

San Carlos Unified District roughly covers schools within Gila County and has a main office in San Carlos.

Among the two schools in San Carlos Unified District, Rice Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian or Alaskan Native students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 638 students.
