Cochise Elementary District: 34% of students passed their AASA Language Arts tests in 2022-23 school year

In the 2022-23 school year, 34% of Cochise Elementary District students passed their AASA Language Arts test, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

The 55 students who took the AASA were assessed at four proficiency levels in each subject. Those at proficiency level one and two failed the test, while students who reached the third and fourth proficiency level passed the test.

Cochise Elementary District covers only one school within Cochise County and has a main office in Cochise.

WalletHub claimed Arizona’s school system ranked among the worst across U.S. for class size, performance, funding, safety, and instructors’ credentials.

Math scores fell the most from 2019 to 2022, while language arts scores decreased to a lesser extent from 2019 to 2022, according to the Nation's Report Card.
