Globe Unified District students and their AASA/ACT Language Arts performance in 2022-23 school year

In the 2022-23 school year, 81% of Globe Unified District students failed their AASA/ACT Language Arts test, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

The 832 students who took the AASA/ACT test were assessed at four proficiency levels in each subject. Those at levels one and two failed the test, while students who reached the third and fourth proficiency levels passed the test.

Globe Unified District roughly covers schools within Gila County County and has a main office in Globe.

A 2023 study from Scholaroo.com ranked Arizona last out of all U.S. states in terms of educational success, giving the state poor markets for school quality, student success, and teacher-to-student ratio.

WalletHub claimed Arizona’s school system ranked among the worst across U.S. for class size, performance, funding, safety, and instructors’ credentials.
