Globe Unified District: 88% of students failed their AASA/ACT Math tests in 2022-23 school year

In the 2022-23 school year, 88% of Globe Unified District students failed their AASA/ACT Math test, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

The 843 students who took the AASA/ACT test were assessed at four proficiency levels in each subject. Those at levels one and two failed the test, while students who reached the third and fourth proficiency levels passed the test.

Globe Unified District roughly covers schools within Gila County County and has a main office in Globe.

In 2022 Arizona had roughly one teacher for every 19 students, compared to the national average of one teacher for 16 students. Teachers handling a higher number of students was found to have negative consequences for students’ school performance.

In 2022, average scores from Arizona students were found to be inline with the national average scores for math and reading, according to the Nation's Report Card.
