FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments from January to September 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government, we at DeKalb Times have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Dekalb County. The request, dated September 26, 2024, seeks comprehensive details about all payments made to vendors within the county from January 1, 2024, until the date of the request.

The specific information requested includes the name of each vendor who received payment during this period, the date of each transaction, a description of what each transaction entailed, and the amount paid in each case.

As journalists committed to providing accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to such public records is essential for us. It enables us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. We believe that our role as media professionals makes us eligible for a fee waiver for this request.

We look forward to receiving this information from Dekalb County and will continue our work in keeping our readers informed about their local government's activities.
