Board of Health Statement in Support of Cochise Health & Social Services Staff

Health

Cochise County issued the following announcement on Sept. 8.

The COVID-19 pandemic has gone on longer than any of us serving on the Cochise County Board of Health could have imagined.

While it has been a daunting public health task, Dr. Alicia Thompson and her staff have been outstanding in their diligence and dedication combating this severe pandemic.

Over sixty-thousand Cochise County residents have been fully vaccinated largely due to the efforts of Cochise Health and Social Services. This enormous task could not have been accomplished had it not been for Dr. Thompson’s leadership and her staff’s dedication.

“At our most recent Board of Health meeting on Friday, it was the consensus of the group to let the public know how much we appreciate the professional manner in which the Cochise Health and Social Services department is handling the COVID-19 pandemic, while continuing to provide all the other wellness programs for our residents throughout Cochise County” said Chair of the Board of Supervisors, Ann English.

The Cochise County Board of Health is appreciative of Dr. Thompson and staff and wishes to acknowledge its support, thanks, and appreciation for a job well done. We could not have asked for more.
