Cochise County issued the following announcement on Dec. 23.
Cochise Health and Social Services (CHSS) released a public service announcement titled, “Life’s Better Vaccinated,” featuring local Cochise County community leaders. CHSS and these community leaders encourage residents to get the COVID-19 vaccine to better help protect themselves, their families, and their community.
Available for viewing on the Cochise Health and Social Services’ new Facebook Page, the video PSAs highlight each leader’s personal viewpoint and experience since receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. Fry Fire Chief, Mark Savage shares, “I know vaccines are protecting our firefighters and other frontline workers in helping us continue to serve the ones who need us the most.”
COVID-19 vaccines are free, proven to be effective in preventing serious illness and hospitalizations, and are an essential part of remaining safe and combating the virus. Citizens are encouraged to receive a full-dose series and booster, to ensure maximum protection.
“It is rare for vaccinated individuals to get severely ill or die from COVID-19,” says Cochise County Health Director, Alicia M. Thompson. “Right now, the option that gives us the best chance of staying alive and out of the hospital is getting the COVID-19 vaccine and staying boosted,” Thompson added. “My prayer is that this holiday season you give your loved ones the gift of life and get vaccinated. Life is Better Vaccinated.”
