Since the 1970s, the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program has been an essential source of funding to assist local governments with a variety of community development initiatives and activities. HUD allots 70 percent of CDBG money directly to entitlement communities, including our City of Douglas.
The City of Douglas has been receiving entitlement funding since 2014 and has funded various infrastructure and community facility projects throughout the years. The City of Douglas is actively working on utilizing funding for multiple funding years.
The week of May 15 through 21 celebrates National Public Works Week and Infrastructure Week across the nation. We are proud to highlight the hard work of our City’s staff to celebrate them and their hard work.
City of Douglas infrastructure projects that are actively in process include the following:
FISCAL YEAR 2018 Playground lighting and other improvements in Veterans Park
FISCAL YEAR 2020 Curbing, sidewalks and ADA ramps on 1st & 2nd Streets
FISCAL YEAR 2021 Walkways and other improvements in Joe Causey Park
