Tierra Madre Vineyards and Bed & Breakfast is a newly established vineyard in Young, Arizona. They are not currently serving wine just yet, but they have an amazing B&B that is the perfect hub for a romantic and adventurous getaway. You will stay for 2 nights in their two bedrooms, one bath, 725 square foot guest house, which is the largest of their two rentals. Tierra Madre prides itself on delicious homemade meals made fresh using local, organic, and seasonal farm-to-table ingredients. Their baked goods, yogurts and parfaits are sure to delight. They guarantee you will not leave unsatisfied.

Breakfast: includes any of the following; egg scrambles, quiche or fried with a side of sausage, bacon or chorizo. Also, an array of baked goods, yogurt and seasonal fresh fruit. One specialty drink is included with your meal.

DINNER AT BRUZZI VINEYARD WITH WINE TASTING

Bruzzi Vineyard was the first established vineyard in Gila County. Their grapes are expertly crafted into some of the finest wines in the state. They grow much of their own farm produce. THINGS TO DO:

PLEASANT VALLEY MUSEUM

Many people do not realize that Gila County, specifically Pleasant Valley, was ground zero for America's bloodiest family feud. Today visitors can learn more about the "Pleasant Valley War" at the Pleasant Valley Museum. As the story goes, a long time feud between two families, the Grahams and the Tewksburys, boiled over and left a huge wake of dead bodies and even prevented Arizona Statehood for several years. The flashpoint precipitating the feud was grazing rights-cattle versus sheep. Every last member of each family is now deceased. Enjoy the monuments, placards, and old farm instruments that can be found around the museum's exterior. Gravesites of the family can be found in the cemetery next door and really offers some fascinating history. Both the museum grounds and cemetery are open and free to the public.

HIKING TRAILS

The Pleasant Valley Ranger District is located on all four sides of the town of Young, and it continues north to the Mogollon Rim and east to the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. The district consists of approximately 420,000 acres of Chaparral, Pinyon-Juniper, as well as significant areas of scattered Ponderosa Pine-Juniper types of vegetation. Hiking in this area is a one-of-a-kind experience, but you better be ready. This is the home of the Hells Gate Wilderness, yes it's beautiful, but it is still one of the most WILD and untamed places on the planet.

WILDLIFE WATCHING

The Tonto National Forest is a mecca for wildlife viewing. There are hundreds of different species that call this forest home. From its towering wooded pine forest and its sprawling deserts, Gila County offers many different wildlife viewing opportunities. Due to Young's remote location, it is a perfect place to watch wildlife in their natural habitat.
