FOIA Request Sent to Graham County Regarding Pre-Election Voting Machine Test Reports on October 30, 2024

FOIA Request to Graham County Regarding Pre-Election Voting Machine Test Reports on October 30, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at SE Arizona News have sent a request under the Arizona Public Records Law § 39.101 et seq., for access to pre-election test reports of voting machines in Graham County.

The requested records are expected to shed light on the functionality and reliability of the voting machines used in the upcoming elections. Specifically, we have asked for details including the date of testing, machine manufacture, machine model number, and machine status indicating whether each machine passed or failed during testing.

Our goal is to ensure transparency in the electoral process and hold public institutions accountable. Access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. As a media organization, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver and have made this known in our request.

We await a positive response from Graham County as we continue our mission of keeping the public informed about their local government's activities.
