Arizona Cochise County Republican Committee issued the following announcement on Dec. 18
While the County’s Library District has operated the branch on N. Hwy. 191 since 2003, the building was owned by the non-profit Elfrida Citizens Alliance (ECA). At its regular meeting on December 17, the Board of Supervisors approved the acceptance of a quitclaim deed, transferring ownership of the building to the County.
The adjacent Elfrida Community Center, which shares the same parcel with the library, is being transferred to the Elfrida Fire District and library patrons, staff, and volunteers will continue to use the building’s restrooms, thanks to a license agreement. The library currently has no restroom, but the County plans to build one next year at a cost of up to $50,000.
