CITY OF SIERRA VISTA: Coronado-Moorman intersection to close December 2 for construction

Const

City of Sierra Vista issued the following announcement on Nov. 23

The Coronado Drive pavement replacement project is moving into Phase 2, which will temporarily close the intersection at Coronado Drive and Moorman/Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, effective Dec. 2.

The intersection closure, along with the closure of the section of Coronado Drive between Moorman Avenue and Fry Boulevard, will remain in place until the project is completed, likely in mid-December.

Detours will be signed to direct motorists around the construction area onto Las Brisas Way, Lenzner Avenue, and Avenida Escuela. Businesses near the work zone can be accessed via Fry Boulevard.

The closure will also impact traffic exiting Veterans Memorial Park via Jean Randle Way. During construction, motorists exiting the park will be restricted to right turn only onto Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.

Motorist are asked to avoid the work zone if possible, and to slow down and watch for personnel and equipment when trips require travel near the area.

The project schedule is subject to change based on weather condition and other factors.
