City of Sierra Vista issued the following announcement on Sept. 30.
The playground on the north side of Veterans Memorial Park, located near The Cove, will be closed from Monday, Oct. 4, through Sunday, Oct. 10, while the play surface is repaired and resurfaced.
The playground features a rubber play surface called TotTurf, which uses recycled materials to create a safe, cushioned area for kids to enjoy. The TotTurf is due for resurfacing and weather conditions are forecasted to be ideal to complete the work in the coming week.
The public is urged to heed posted signage and barriers while the playground is closed, as it must remain undisturbed while the TotTurf cures. The playground is expected to reopen on Monday, Oct. 11. The closure schedule is subject to change dependent on weather conditions.
