City of Sierra Vista issued the following announcement on Nov. 5.
All City facilities will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 11, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday and road closures along Fry Boulevard and Wilcox Drive will be in place that morning due to the 26th Annual Veterans Day Parade.
The Thursday, Nov. 11, trash collection will shift to Wednesday, Nov. 10. No special pickups will be available on Wednesday. There is no change to the Friday trash pickup schedule.
The 26th Annual Veterans Day Parade will head down Fry Boulevard from 7th Street to Veterans Memorial Park on Thursday, Nov. 11, starting at 9 a.m. A brief ceremony will be held in the park following the parade.
Fry Boulevard will be closed from 7th Street to Avenida Escuela from about 8:45 to 11 a.m. Wilcox Drive will be closed from 7th Street to Lenzner Avenue for parade staging starting at 7 a.m. In addition, no through traffic from Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway to Fry Boulevard via Veterans Memorial Park will be allowed from 9 to 11 a.m.
