Citizens and commuters of Bowie and Dragoon are advised of road closures impacting travel. Central Avenue in Bowie and Dragoon Road in Dragoon will close from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during each day of railroad construction.
Central Avenue will close on Tuesday, April 5 through Thursday, April 7 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The road will be closed at the railroad tracks between Railroad Drive and Lawrence Ave. Motorists needing daily access to Central Avenue are encouraged to plan their travel around the closure times, if possible.
On Friday, April 8, Dragoon Road will close from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to allow Union Pacific Railroad to finalize railroad track construction. Commuters of Dragoon Road should expect to take an alternate route when traveling east or west of the railroad tracks during closure times. The suggested detour route is I-10 and US 191.
