During Monday March 27th's City Council meeting, Vice Mayor Ortega and City Council proclaimed that the week of April 2-8, 2022 is the Week of the Young Child in Safford, Arizona. Members from First Things First, Arizona Association for the Education of Young Children, presented on early childhood development and its importance in the community. Additionally, multiple representatives from early childhood education programs throughout the Gila Valley were in attendance.
City Council also was presented the preliminary budget for several departments including: City Manager, City Clerk, Human Resources, Library, Finance, Fire Department, Advanced Metering Infrastructure, Business Services, Debt Services, and Materials Management.
The Vice Mayor and Council approved minutes from the February 3rd City Council Work Session, six special event liquor licenses for the 2022 Spring Fest, Resolution R22-010 CDBG Project, Resolution R22-011 PSPRS Contingency Reserve Fund, and C&S Contract Award Taxiway Lighting.
