The Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center has suspended owner turn-ins of cats and dogs until further notice as intakes have pushed the shelter’s space to its limits.
Cat trapping also remains suspended until further notice.
“Please be patient while we find homes for the many animals in our care and free up space so we can resume taking in additional animals,” Animal Control Supervisor Arleen Garcia says. “This is a great time to adopt or foster, so please visit the shelter soon if you’re interested.”
Dogs are available for a reduced adoption fee of $50, while the cat adoptions are $50 as usual. The adoption fees include sterilization, the first set of vaccinations, a complete physical exam, a City dog license, and a microchip implant at no additional charge.
The Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. It is located at 6799 E. Highway 90. For more information, call the shelter at (520) 458-4151.
