Bandleader Neto Vasquez pledges “we are bringing the cumbias!” when Neto & Imagine kick-off the summer outdoor concert season in Miami on Saturday night June 4 for three hours of music ranging from pop standards and classic rock covers to irresistible cumbias that are sure to move you onto the dance floor from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Arranged by Miami Genesis (thanks to a generous grant from the United Fund!) outdoor summer concerts are free -- but make sure to bring cash for snack bar options – during last summer’s Miami concert delicious red or chile burros were a bargain at $4; tasty bean burros, nachos, cheese crisps, soda, candy and popcorn were available, too. Event organizers suggest to bring your own camp chairs.
Neto & Imagine have an impressive set list - they know all the favorites requested by Globe-Miami audiences, after decades playing local events. Just a few to listen for Saturday include
Volver, Rosa Maria, Cowboy Cumbia, Woolly Bully and The Chair.
Mark your calendar for these summer music dates, too:
* Silver Creek Band June 18
* Paloma Latin Sounds July 16
* Los Impikados July 30
* Neto and Imagine August 13
