Elsie S. Hogan Friends of the Library were proud to make significant donations to the Willcox High School and Middle School Library and the Willcox Elementary School Learning Resource Center as well

The Elsie S. Hogan Friends of the Library were proud to make significant donations to the Willcox High School and Middle School Library and the Willcox Elementary School Learning Resource Center as well. We have a membership of a little more than 30 folks, almost half of them give of themselves and their time directly volunteering at the Friendly Bookstore, 125 E. Maley St, in Willcox. The bookstore has many items for all ages’ popular books as well as classics, DVDs, CDs, puzzles, even some maps, records, cassettes, and videos. Local historical society materials and books on regional history, many by local authors are also featured, even local honey! Items for sale are donations from the community as well as library discards. The money generated from these sales goes right back into the community through support of library programs and help with furniture, shelving, even technology. It is gratifying to see all the individuals engaged in directly improving their town through giving up books they no longer need to be resold inexpensively to those who want them. In addition, the store can be a bit of a social center where volunteer staff and members of the community and visitors from all over can come together in fellowship. Big work for such a modest town.
