The Gila County Public Works Department is proud to announce the Golden Hill--Main Street Sidewalk and Pedestrian Pathway Project. Please join us at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17 at the intersection of Golden Hill and Main Street.

On Feb. 6, Public Works engineers and staff hosted an open house to outline the project, construction that officially begins with Friday's groundbreaking event.

The work consists of constructing a new concrete sidewalk on Golden Hill Road and constructing a variable width pedestrian pathway on Main Street.

The Golden Hill Road section will require some mailboxes to be relocated by the contractor.

Gila County has been working with the US Postal Service to determine the best location and types of new mailboxes.

Individual mailboxes will be replaced with cluster boxes located in safe, easily accessible areas.
